An immersive audio-visual journey exploring the invisible world of quantum physics
As part of the International Year of Quantum Science and Technology (IYQ) 2025, N’SO KYOTO will perform in Münster – Theatre Im Pumpenhaus, a groundbreaking audio-visual performance that merges music, science, and technology into a singular sensory experience.

Performance Overview
Quantum 2.0 is an innovative work for solo percussion, electronics, augmented reality, and the Ceramophone—a one-of-a-kind ceramic musical instrument. Created by French composer and performer Yannick Paget, in close collaboration with theoretical physicist Koji Hashimoto, ceramic artist Toru Kurokawa, and visual artist Sagar Patel, the piece explores the subatomic oscillations of matter as governed by quantum mechanics.
In Quantum 2.0, the Ceramophone is performed both physically and through Augmented Reality, creating a hybrid sound experience rooted in the very principles of quantum physics.
Virtual Reality technology is used live, blending physical and virtual instruments in real time. As projected virtual instruments appear on screen, the audience can hear them performed alongside real instruments—the boundary between the material and the immaterial blurred, challenging perceptions of reality itself.
A reactive visual composition, based on 3D modeling of the ceramic sculptures, further deepens the experience. The visuals dynamically respond to sound, evoking the disintegration and reformation of particles—an artistic exploration of the essence of matter.
The performance is enveloped in immersive sound through advanced spatialization technology, surrounding the audience in a multidimensional sonic landscape.
