Since 1997, Hidekazu Maeda has been exploring body expression, performing in the works of the performing arts group Dumb Type, including OR, Memorandum, and Voyage, while participating in tours both domestically and internationally.

He has also collaborated with notable artists such as media artist Shiro Takatani, appearing in Bright Room La Chambre Claire, and light artist Kyota Takahashi, contributing to works such as Dreams to See Someday – Kyoto Art Biennale Special Exhibition (Kyoto Culture Museum, Kyoto Prefecture), Smart Illumination Yokohama 2015, and Red Room #1-4 (Yokohama Creative City Center).

Maeda also directed and performed in the production of Every Day is a New Beginning at ROHM Theater Kyoto North Hall.
