IV. Singularity

IV. Singularity

A solo cello concert. 3 Performances.
Theme: Special collaboration with the monk Toryo Ito. Singularity is where the general laws of physics do not apply.

What about “Free Will“ ? Is man-kind a singularity of the universe?

Concept: In this performance, the audience was invited to an immersive musical introspection. The Ryosokuin temple, lighted up for the occasion, was turned by N’SO KYOTO into a gigantic resonator, carrying around the wave of the cello’s sound through its wooden structure.
This movement is a step back in our physics research to find a different perspective, a sort of breathing in the piece.

Conference: Conversation with Toryo Ito/ Yannick Paget and Koji Hashimoto.
